No Waste Network is an initiative from the ministry of LNV. The ministry stands for sustainable food, valued nature and the vital countryside. In this regard, the Netherlands has a series of large socio-cultural challenges it faces. Including reducing food waste, so that precious raw materials are lost less.

The Alliantie Verduurzaming Voedsel and Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research started the CARVE project in 2015 to reduce food waste in the agri-food supply chain. For 4 years companies in the food supply chain, in the form of pilots, will get busy with knowledge, instruments and decision-models.
